Synopsis:
Ben leaps into Nick Peterson, a bounty hunter escorting Kevin Zatt safely back to his bail bondsman, Elena Carra. Kevin is a lawyer who laundered money and skimmed funds from his clients. Unfortunately, one of his clients is a very dangerous criminal and has sent his goons after them to kill Kevin. Despite Kevin’s abrasiveness and continual lying as he tries to convince Ben to let him go, Ben believes that there is still a good person in him. Kevin also describes his commitment to his theory of personal selfishness, all stemming from his high school days when he lost out on a scholarship. After a brief car chase in which Ben manages to elude the criminals and unfortunately crash his car, Kevin saves Ben by pulling him out of the wreckage before it explodes.
In need of medical attention for his hurt shoulder, Kevin tells Ben he knows a doctor nearby, who turns out to be his brother, Josh, who shows his visible distaste at Kevin's arrival but helps Ben with his shoulder. As the two talk, Ben finds out that Josh was the one who received the scholarship back in high school instead of Kevin, due to Kevin stealing cash from the school. Ben also witnesses Kevin's interactions with his nephew, Jeffrey, someone he seems to genuinely care about. Things take an interesting turn when Josh’s wife returns out and she turns out to be Hannah. Ben doesn't say much, until at dinner, Kevin brings up a conversation Ben had with him earlier about his new girlfriend and their last date in Cairo. Ben steps outside and Hannah confronts him about not telling her he was there. They talk and she goes to embrace him, however Ben feels awkward because she is now married with a child. Hannah however tells him it is possible to love two people at once.
Back at the Project, Ian works on the DARPA data fragments Tom brought them, but warns everyone it could take years to go through it all to find something, but assures them something does seem to be there. Addison talks with Magic about how she feels, having gotten over Ben, then dealing with him being back, then dealing with him still being in love with her, to finally falling for someone else. Magic encourages her to talk to Tom, saying she shouldn't go through this alone.
Back in the past, Ben calls Elena, and tells her where they are, requesting a pickup. Addison arrives to tell Ben that they discovered that Elena was actually bought by the criminals who are after Kevin and are working together to find him. Ben and Hannah come up with a plan to use household items to set up a way to stun the criminals, a plan that works on the men, but not on Elena because she was wearing rubber-soled shoes. Ben and her get into a knock down drag out fight, with Hannah jumping in to help him. Kevin helps as he hits Elena with his nephew’s BB Gun, knocking her out.
Kevin and his brother share a moment and slowly show signs of reconnecting. Hannah and Ben have a brief goodbye while Addison updates him on the future, noting that Elena goes to jail, ratting out her criminal connections, and Kevin and Josh end up creating a charity for their former school, using the diamonds that Kevin had hidden away. Unfortunately, though Josh will pass away from a medical condition that could be prevented if they catch it now. Ben rushes to tell Hannah but he leaps.
Back at the Project, Addison confronts Tom about the ring and he admits he had plans to set the stage to propose to her, and then does just that as Addison happily accepts.

Josh Dean played Josh. His biggest credit is 14 episodes of Blindspot. He is also a bit of a Hallmark movie star, leading some and guest starring others.
David Clayton Rogers played Kevin. He was in Bryan Singer’s H+ (a future-set story in which a virus has wiped out most of the human race, and those still alive have their minds linked to the Internet 24 hours a day, when a viral incident leads to a new world order); he was in 20 of the 54 episodes. He was also in Jane By Design (a case of mistaken identity has a dateless high school outsider living a double life as a twenty-something career girl in the fashion world), and most recently he was in The Lincoln Lawyer.
Connor Esterson was Jeffrey, and was the lead in Spy Kids: Armageddon. He has a few minor credits, but interestingly is listed as being in an episode of 1997’s Beyond Belief: Fact Or Fiction, playing Mike Faustino in the S6E7: The Gate to Hell/Bad Omen/Car with a Conscience/Lost and Found/The Ghosts of Versailles
Unsung Hero: Nick Peterson was played by Matthew O’Donnell. He’s had a few roles, such as dad in Cobra Kai, Sheriff Dorsey in Judge Me Not, and Gary in The Wedding Arrangement.
