Chapter One 'The Second Coming':

Synopsis:
In the future, a scarred Peter faces off against an angry Claire, holding him at gunpoint, ready to shoot him, before Peter tells her he is going back into the past to change things so no one will know about them.
In the past, Scarred Peter dons a baseball cap and finds himself shooting Nathan, just as he is about to reveal his abilities at a press conference. Peter chases Scarred Peter, but when Matt catches up to Peter, he informs Matt that he lost the shooter. At the hospital, after many valiant efforts, the doctors inform Peter that Nathan did not make it. Peter goes in to see his brother, who suddenly rises up, alive.
Hiro practices with his powers on a clock in his father’s office, but feels restless, wanting to know what his destiny is. As he talks with Ando, the family lawyer arrives and gives him an envelope. When the two watch the video within, Kaito tells him he is to be the sentinel of a great secret hidden in his safe. Although he is warned to not open it, Hiro does so, wanting to be more than just a sentinel. Upon finding its contents, they are warned by a second video of the destructive power this secret holds, with Kaito again telling him to guard this half of a formula, with his life. Unfortunately, the formula is suddenly stolen, with Hiro stopping time to follow a trail to a young woman who can move very fast. Given her abilities, she can interact with Hiro in the stopped time, before knocking him down and escaping with the formula. Later, Ando tries to convince Hiro to go into the past to talk to Kaito and figure out what the formula was and how it could destroy everything, but Hiro decides against going to the past ever again and instead goes to the future where he sees Ando, with a power, knock out Hiro and take the formula from him, with Hiro claiming Ando betrayed him. Hir returns to the present and tells Ando they must find the formula.
Meanwhile, Claire, having seen what happened to Nathan and ready to go find him to heal him with her blood, is confronted by Sylar, who uses his abilities to terrorize her as she tries to get away from him. While she gets a good hit in, as well as a major stab wound, he manages to pin her to a table and cut open her head to inspect her brain and her abilities, eventually finding the secret, and healing himself, now able to regenerate just like Claire. He leaves, but Claire asks why he didn’t kill her, as Sylar responds she’s not like the others, she couldn’t die even if he wanted to kill her. Sylar leaves with Bennet’s records of other people who have abilities, ready to find them and claim their powers.
Maya begs Mohinder to cure her, but he is adamant that he cannot, until he sees her powers in action and comes up with a new theory involving adrenaline rather than blood as the source of her abilities. Doing so leads him to create a drum that can actually give people powers. She tells him it’s evil and should be destroyed but the allure of the power is too great as later that night, Mohinder injects himself, passing out. As a duo of thugs find him and try to rob him, he crushes their gun with his bare hands and tosses them away.
Meanwhile Matt finds Peter looking for something in a closet in the building where Nathan was shot. Matt questions him on how he knew where to find it. He tries his abilities but Peter fights back and reveals that he isn’t his Peter, but from the future, and that he came back to stop Nathan from revealing their powers. Now that Matt knows the truth, Scarred Peter sends him away to a remote desert. He awakens later, and begins trying to get back to civilization, seeing a painting of the earth exploding on a rock nearby.
Elsewhere, a woman looking like Niki, but going by the name Tracy, attends to the New York governor Malden, who is watching a TV news report and tells her he thinks Nathan Petrelli could be the guy they’ve been looking for to replace a vacated senate seat. Tracy looks at him onscreen, not recognizing him at all but agrees.
Nathan awakens and leaves the hospital, finding a nearby church, and begins preaching about the glory of God, believing himself now to be touched by God, and later, telling Peter that maybe they are angels sent to the world to do God’s bidding. Peter leaves, and Linderman shows up, as Nathan sees that he was healed by the now alive man who tells them they are meant for great things. Angela faces off against Scarred Peter, telling him she knows who he is because of her ability to dream the future. She tells him to leave, that he’s messed up by changing things, and he starts to go, telling her that Peter is somewhere safe. In the company prison, we see a number of people with abilities, imprisoned, along with Bennet, and a man who is decidedly NOT Peter Petrelli, yelling that he IS Peter.
Back-issues:
Brea Grant played Daphne Milbrook. Her bread and butter seems to come from lesser known horror movies as a lead, and she’s also done some writing and directing as well. Her biggest recurring role was in Eastsiders, a daytime soap where she appeared in just under half of the 33 episodes.
Jamie Hector played Knox. His biggest role was in the often mentioned Bosch where he was in all 68 episodes alongside star Titus Welliver (a cop stands trial for murdering a serial killer while trying to find a missing 13 year old boy). He was also in half of the 60 episode series The Wire.
The Governor was played by Bruce Boxleitner, best known for the role of Alan Bradley/Tron in the movie Tron and its spinoffs. He is also well known for his role of Captain Sheridan in Babylon 5, starting in season 2 and onwards. Way back in the 80’s, he was a lead in The Scarecrow and Mrs. King (a housewife and a spy fall in love, Kate Jackson of Charlie's Angels fame stars alongside him). He was the lead in Bring ‘Em Back Alive (Pith-helmeted Buck is a Great White Hunter who works out of the Raffles Hotel bar in Singapore during the 1930s fighting all kinds of bad guys in pre-war Malaya), and How The West Was Won (the Macahans, a family from Virginia, headed by Zeb Macahan, travel across the country to pioneer a new land and a new home in the American West), and was a lead alongside Michael Ironside in Young Blades (a group of youths as cross swords with dastardly villains while keeping up on their studies at the Musketeer Academy). He was in half of the episodes of Cedar Cove (a drama about a judge’s life, played by Andie MacDowell), and had a short run of episodes in the CW’s Supergirl as The President.
Chapter Two 'The Butterfly Effect':

Synopsis:
Claire recovers from her run in with Sylar, telling her mother that she doesn’t seem to feel pain anymore when she gets hurt, and begins questioning if she really is human anymore.
Suresh meanwhile has been discovering new abilities when Maya comes to his lab. In addition to his strength, he can now climb walls, is more agile and alert than ever. He tells her that it’s only a matter of time in which he will be able to figure out how to reverse the effects. Along with his new powers, he seemingly gains rizz as he comes on to Maya, and the two end up sleeping together. He awakens, startled in the middle of night and goes to the bathroom. There, in horror, he looks at his flesh which seems to be tearing off in places.
Parkman wanders the desert he’s in, eventually collapsing. He is awakened by a voice telling him to drink from a nearby plant. He thanks the voice, seemingly coming from a nearby turtle, but then discovers a man has arrived to help him. He knows his name and tells Parkman to go with him on a spirit walk, explaining that he isn’t supposed to be here, and tells him of his ability to paint the future.
Back at the Company, Bob reprimands Elle for her mistakes with Sylar and takes her off the job.
Hiro, having gotten information about the speedster Daphne Milbrook from some shady detectives, goes to track her down. Ando is surprised Hiro wasn’t going to take him as Hiro remembers the future he saw. They find Daphne’s apartment filled with various things she has stolen over the years, and as they search for the formula, Hiro tells Ando about the future he saw. Hiro comes up with a plan to trap Her and when she arrives home, Hiro holds her high school track medal up, offering to trade it for the formula. She eventually agrees, but manages to get the drop on Ando, holding a knife to his neck as Hiro pauses time. He eventually gives her the medal to save Ando and she runs off with it and the formula. Ando is shocked Hiro would allow him to get hurt like that.
NY Governor Malden seems to be regretting his choice of Petrelli, but his advisor, Tiffany Strauss convinces him. She is later approached by a reporter who shows her he has tracked down evidence she ran an internet sex website, showing her the advertisements Niki used to run. Tracey denies that it is her and drives off to find Nathan. Nathan is shocked to see whom he thinks is Niki, but the woman introduces herself as Tracy Strauss, not recognizing the name Niki at all. She presents the governor’s offer as Nathan takes her card, but as she leaves, Linderman appears and tells him that it really isn’t Niki. Nathan refuses to play along with him, telling him to go. Later when Tracy returns, the reporter tries again to get a quote, but Tracy touches the man to push him away and accidentally freezes the man as he falls to the ground and shatters.
Elle comes up with an idea to trap Sylar using the prisoners they have as bait, but Sylar has already been there, having killed her father. She retreats to level 5 where the prisoners are kept and recruits Bennet to help, but Sylar gets the jump on her, knocking her aside. Bennet shoots Sylar but he heals and tells him he got that from his daughter, before throwing him aside as well. Sylar begins to cut open Elle’s head to try and gain her power but the electricity causes a huge explosion and Sylar is knocked out as the other prisoners, Knox, the strongman, Flint the fire starter, and the magnetically powered man known as The German, escape, including Peter, trapped in the body of a man named Jesse who has the ability to control sound.
Angela has a prophetic dream in which she sees Hiro, Nathan, Peter, Parkman and Claire all dead or being killed, as she turns to see Maury Parkman, Adam Monroe, Tracy Strauss and Knox arrive to face off against her. Sylar appears behind her and she wakes up. She goes to Scarred Peter and tells him to leave and go back to the future but he argues with her that he is back here to fix things. She tells him that Claire’s future has changed because of his interference, telling him to go find out. Peter arrives to find Claire trying to hurt herself, this time by a train, but he flies down and rescues her. She tells him about Sylar, and he is distraught, knowing it is his fault this has happened, and leaves. Back at home, Claire is happy to see her father who tells her he has to go capture the escaped prisoners. She wants to go with him, but he says he has a plan for her and the family to stay safe, as he brings in Claire’s fire powered birth mother in to help.
Scarred Peter goes to the Company shocked that the prisoners escaped. Angela tells him to find her son and bring him back. Peter meanwhile, in the body of Jesse, tries to contact Nathan but his voice sounds like Jesse as he leaves a message. Nathan however is playing chess with Linderman, and when the nurse comes in to tell him it’s time to rest, she sees no one with him, as Linderman tells Nathan that no one else can see him.
Back at the Company, Angela talks with Sylar, talking about boys and their mothers, and he tells her that she isn’t his mother, but Angela replies that she actually is.
Back-issues:
Jim McCann, the reporter, was played by William Katt, best known for his role as school teacher Ralph Hinkley in The Greatest American Hero. He was in the movie House (a troubled writer moves into a haunted house after inheriting it from his aunt), and a favorite movie of Tom’s, The Man From Earth (alongside Star Trek alum John Billingsley, Office Space’s Richard Riehle, and Candyman himself Tony Todd). He also did a number of Perry Mason movies as a second lead.
Jesse was played by Francis Capra, who has his first credit in Heroes from Season 1 episode 3. It is likely that just his picture was used as an example of someone with abilities, as he was uncredited. Aside from a run of small roles, his biggest role was as Eli Weevil Navarro in 60-some episodes of Veronica Mars.
