RW433 - Dawson's Creek S03E16-17 - Love Cinderella

In this weeks episode of The Dawson's Creek Rewatch, Cory and Tom bid farewell friends and lovers as they discuss of season 3 episodes 16 & 17, "To Green, With Love" and "Cinderella Story."

To Green, With Love:

Written by: Gina Fattore

Directed by: Kenneth Fink

Original airdate: February 16, 2000

Synopsis:

Many of the residents of the town of Capeside, in an uproar over the expelling of Matt Caulfield, end up pressuring the superintendent, Dr. Fielding, into asking for Mr. Green’s resignation unless he rescinds his punishment. Even students who are supporting Green, like Joey, have their words twisted by Gail’s news anchor replacement, a young blonde barbie-style model turned on-camera talent named Sherry who fails to report the story from a neutral point of view, painting Green in a bad light.

Pacey advises Joey to continue her fight and rally the troops in order to fight what’s happening, but it isn’t until she talks with AJ that she decides to actually hold a rally in support of their principal. Bessie meanwhile tries to dissuade Joey after she receives a phone call from a “concerned citizen” stating that Joey’s actions wouldn’t be good for the bed and breakfast.

Dawson and Gail work in her restaurant, getting things ready, while they talk about what happened at the meeting and how Green’s story isn’t being told. Gail decides to film a special report, with help from Dawson, to give the public both sides of the story, hoping her former channel will air it.

At a protest outside of the superintendent’s office, Joey gives Gail an interview while snubbing Sherry, before going to see the superintendent who tries to railroad her into stopping what she’s doing. Joey responds by bluffing about petitions and a rally which gives Fielding pause, while Joey walks out triumphant for the moment.

Gail and Dawson head to Mr. Green’s house for his side of the interview but despite his daughter’s pleadings to talk with them, he simply says that it isn’t his job to prove that he is a fair and decent man, that THIS fight is not a good fight, referring back to the words of Martin Luther King Jr. Later he talks with Nikki privately about how he is angry about the situation but that to show that anger would allow the other side to use that against him.

Gail and Dawson go to interview Dr. Fielding, with Gail telling Dawson that if she didn’t present both sides of the story, she would be no better than Sherry, picking only the bits of the story that she wants to tell. While Fielding tries to frame his position as doing what is best for the community, Gail presents him with a copy of his very own oath of office in which he states he would do what is right for the students and THEIR welfare, prompting him to end the interview abruptly.

Pacey, realizing that AJ has a bigger influence on Joey, with Joey turning to him instead of Pacey, feels depressed and ends up talking with Jen, who relates his situation to the movie Sixteen Candles, asking Pacey if he will still stand by Joey as a friend, after which he realizes he will. After Pacey introduces Joey at the rally, the students in attendance all share their stories of Mr. Green. As Nikki gives her own stories, Mr. Green enters and thanks everyone for their support, but lets them know that he will be leaving, unwilling to budge on a decision he knows was right. Afterwards, Bessie praises Joey on what she has done, showing her support for her younger sister.

The next day, Joey talks with Principal Green who tells her that he has never felt more successful in all his years of education, having had such a strong influence on so many students, as he walks through the halls of Capeside High to the applause from his now former students.

Gale talks with Dawson and reveals that the news station has agreed to air her story and has even asked her to retune and do several more special reports. Dawson is ecstatic for her but Gail says she turned it down because she has a new interest, the restaurant, and feels satisfied because she was now able to leave on her own terms instead of being let go, thanking Dawson for inspiring her.

Elsewhere Pacey shows Joey his gift to her, a wall he rented for her to paint a new mural on for all to see, a gesture that she greatly appreciates, seeing Pacey in a different light yet again.

Cinderella Story:

Written by: Jeffrey Stepakoff

Directed by: Janice Cooke

Original airdate: March 1, 2000

Synopsis:

As Pacey drops off Joey for a weekend celebration with AJ who won a creative writing award, the two bicker about the validity of long distance relationships, ending with a bitter goodbye between them. Elsewhere, Dawson is trying to help his mother with finding servers and a chef for her soon to open restaurant and not having much success.

Pacey heads off to the Capeside Mentor Center where he meets Buzz, a young precocious boy who has such a strong sarcastic wit to be worthy of the Witter name himself, even coming up with a new nickname for Pacey, Pissy. Pacey takes him to an arcade but he ends up having to drag Buzz out after he gets into a slight altercation with some other kids. Pacey takes Buzz to help him paint his boat but he’s less than enthusiastic about it and the two talk about their fathers with Buzz revealing his father died. Later Buzz tries asking about the boat's name “True Love” while Pacey insists there’s no girl involved with it. After Buzz complains about Pacey’s food, Pacey decides to take him back to the center.

Joey is met not by AJ but by Aj’s oldest friend Morgan, who has known him since childhood, in a very Dawson/Joey style relationship, and inadvertently makes Joey a bit uncomfortable as she talks about AJ, showing how much Joey still doesn’t know about him comparatively. Nevertheless, Joey invites Morgan to go to AJ’s award banquet with them, since she is his oldest friend.

Meanwhile Pacey finds out Buzz's father actually didn’t die but ran off with another woman, leaving his family. Pacey starts to sympathize with Buzz and goes back to see him, something that surprises Buzz as four other mentors have left and never come back to see him again. Buzz confides in Pacey that his father isn’t dead and Pacey in turn tells him about Joey.

Dawson, feeling stressed beyond belief about Gail’s restaurant, brings in Mitch to help, a gesture that is not appreciated by Gail as she scolds Dawson, who retorts with Gail’s own advice that it’s ok to ask for help. Jen, who has been applying to be a waitress at Gail’s restaurant, talks with Dawson and explains that it looks like he’s trying to put his family back together. He denies it but she points out that as much as he may not be a young naive boy anymore, there is still the hopeful part of his core being that wants his parents back together. Dawson later returns to the restaurant to find that Gail has decided to hire Mitch as the manager, the dishes breaking Jen as a hostess instead of waitress, and Bodie as part owner in exchange for his recipes and help in the kitchen.

AJ’s award banquet goes off great, and he, Joey and Morgan hang out afterward, but Morgan leaves to give them alone time. Joey, realizing that the poem AJ read at the award banquet was about Morgan, tells him that he should go to her and not miss out on exploring the love that is obviously there but buried somewhat. He feels broken hearted but spurred on by Joey, he leaves.

Pacey comes to pick up Joey and they talk about what happened with Joey harboring some resentment because Pacey had been spot on about the relationship with AJ. He stops the car and they get out and continue arguing, when she reveals that he was the first person she thought of to come get her after her and AJ broke up. Pacey says he’s tired of talking about things and instead he pulls Joey close and kisses her.

Dawson's Trivia:

This episode of Dawson’s Creek is Janice Cooke’s first directing gig. She was, however, a producer going back to Fantasy Island in 1984. As a producer, she was also involved in TJ Hooker, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventures, and Sliders (the pilot episode). After directing here, she went onto shows like Charmed (original), Medium, 90210, One Tree Hill, Cold Case, Gossip Girl, CSI: Cyber, McGuyver (2016), and Fear the Walking Dead. She also randomly has a video coordinator credit on the Val Kilmer movie Real Genius.

Morgan was played by Deborah Kellner, who only has 19 credits. She was a lead in the last pay per event for WWE called Rebellion (with Patrick Dempsey and Pruitt Taylor Vince from Quantum Leap: Moments to Live). She was Debra Jo in Catch Me If You Can way down on the cast list, same thing with Mighty Joe Young, Blast From The Past, and A Night At The Roxbury (topless woman). She WAS in an episode of Sliders called “Breeder”, in which she played Tami. She was one of the main cast members in Dallas: JR Returns, had a big role in one episode of Weird Science and had a short 3 episode stint on Charmed.

Buzz was played by Jonathan Lipnicki, who was best known for his role shortly before Dawson’s as Ray Boyd in Jerry Maguire. He’s also known for being in the Stuart Little series. He did star along with Jeff Foxworthy in The Jeff Foxworthy Show, movies The Little Vampire and Like Mike (A 13-year-old orphan becomes an NBA superstar after trying on a pair of sneakers with the faded initials "M.J." inside), and a one season sitcom called Meego (about an alien who becomes nanny to a widowed father’s children). More recently the hits haven’t exactly kept coming, but he’s been in a number of shorts playing off his days as the former child star (You Used To Be Cute, Awkward Party as Jonathan Flipmicky) and a parody short called Interns of FIELD

He did a movie in 2017 called Altitude in which he was a lead with Denise Richards and Dolph Lundgren (FBI Agent is offered millions to help a thief escape from a hijacked airplane). This year he was in the indie comedy Pooling To Paradise about four millennial strangers carpooling to Paradise Nevada. Last year he was the lead in Broil (dysfunctional family vying to control the future of their wealth). He was further down the cast list in ten episodes of the show Mr Student Body President (school president runs the school like a politician). In 2017 he was the lead in a horror movie called Circus Kane (a circus master invites social media stars to try and get through his haunted house without being scared).

Center lady was played by Andrea Powell. She started her career in small roles in Empire Records, Matlock, Super Mario Bros, and the Legend of Bagger Vance. She was also in one episode of Round The Twist, a man and his children move to an old lighthouse in Australia. She was a main cast member in The Dale Earnhardt Story (with Elizabeth Mitchell), a bit lower on the cast list for Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2, and the same for Ender’s Game. She did have a small role in the series Surface, as well as John Goodman’s The Year Without A Santa Claus. You also might spot her in Jason Sudeikas’s A Good Old Fashioned Orgy, or Drop Dead Diva. Most recently (2019) she was a cast member in 3 episodes of The Righteous Gemstones (show about a televangelist family, John Goodman leads with Danny McBride).

The two bullies have less than 7 credits combined.

Karen Kirschenbauer was credited as “handsome woman” (11 credits).

Classic Creek Critiques:

M tells it as it is: So what did everyone think of Tonight's Episode. First off, I think it was wrong that someone so loved by the students retired because of so snot

nose brat that couldn't get into college because he got expelled for vandalizing a picture. Granted his father probably has big ties into the community, but if he was willing to hurt another students hard work, then he should deal with the consequences that go with the territory, and stop running to daddy because he didn't get his way. I think the guy that plays Principal Green was/is a very good actor and I was suprised he gave up so easily even after his students came together and rallied and loved him so much to do so. I remember students in school doing the same thing for a teacher because we wouldn't let him leave, and the school board decided to keep him, but the situations were different in a way. I thought this episode was really good. I'm glad that Jen was back in this episode because I did miss her last week. Another thing, didn't everyone think that Pacey was going to tell Joey his feelings in this episode, and I wonder what is going to happen with the Joey/A.J. deal after next week.

AJ responds: So what did I think of last night's episode? PURE HOKUM!!! Wasn't anyone else embarrassed when they actually had the audacity to earnestly recycle the ending of "An Officer And A Gentleman"?  I was surprised principal Green didn't carry his daughter out of the school in his arms.  At least "The Simpsons" played this scene for laughs.  Are DC fans so braindead they actually fall for this crap?

Wacky chick responds: Well I did enjoy the epsidoe, but ;like you I was really pissed that Principle Green left just because Matt's father was rich and maybe because Priniciple Green was black too. That's just wrong. It just annoys me that DC basically shows adults in a bad way. Gail, Tamara, Pacey and Jack's English teacher, the drama guy, Mitch's gf, The superintendant, Matt's father, that repoter, Mr McPhee, Mr Whitter, Mr. Potter, Jen's mother, and even Grams to an extent.

Angpagz says: The show has streched itself out too thin. Andie and Jack, and even Jen have all been put on the back burner. Like last night, what was the purpose of Andie and Jack even being on the show. I think the Jack gay story line has run it's course. The writers are not going to have him be involved with a gay kid. It just won't happen, so his character is useless. Andie, well you know whats going to happpen to her, she will go nuts again...and Pacey will be there. See, these charaters had a purpose for a while, but now, there is no puprose for them. As actors, they should take their business somewhere else. Show has another season at best. I do like the show, it's the writing that I have a big problem with.

Josey Elliot agrees: I totally agree...the same thing happened with 90210! I don't even know whohalf the people are on that show, and haven't for a couple of years. My mom pointed out that there is an uncanny similarity between Andie & Jack, and David & Donna (on 90210). They're put on the back burner for the whole time, then something tragic happens to them and they're the main story for a couple of weeks. They'll have Jack get with someone during sweeps, so don't worry about that. The same thing happened last season with him coming out.

Robyn Palm has some thoughts: Thoughts about the Creek and comments to DC's so called problems In this post I will give you my thoughts about dc. It will cover all three seasons of the series. What have happened? Why it happened? And What will happen? are questions, which might be answered if you read this post. What I say here is of course not the absolute truth, but I have thought about this fora long time, and I will now try to share my conclusions. This post is intended for people who have seen the show from the very beginning. Many points may not be valid if you haven't seen all episodes.

When You started watching Dawson's Creek, I assume it was sometime during the first season, What made you keep watching? Was it the smart dialog or the brilliant acting. No, it was the perfect execution of the storyline, which made, at least me to keep watching. During the second season, there were a lot of complains about "how the magig was gone" etc. This is not true. I have watched every episode from the first two seasons at least twice. They are all great and if there is such a thing as "magic", it is definetely still there. The problem wasn't that the second season was any worse, or had less "magic", it was that the first season had been so good, people just couldn't accept that it was going to hold the expectations.

Dawson's Creek is essentially about the relationship between Dawson and his lifelong best friend Joey. As much as we love new additions like Andie and Jack, they just cannot compare with what I feel for the original characters. We can't let their relationships take too much time of the main story. I think they have done that great so far. That is the reason why they sometimes cut a storyline completely from an episode. Like in "Crime and Punishment" recently, there were lots of complains about the "Jen and Henry" story not being in it. If there would be an episode without Dawson, or without Joey I would be seriously worried about the show, but so far there haven't been one. Maybe on the first look, all episodes doesn't tell something about the Dawson and Joey relationship, even if both of them are in the episode. This is not entirely true however.

Let me just take an example of this, if you are already convinced about this you can just skip to the next section. This is also from "Crime and Punishment". In the beginning Dawson is trying to get a peek at the painting, but Joey doesn't allow him. That gave me an immediate association to something I thought about during the second season. In one, of the first episodes of the second season, when Joey has just started taking art classes, Dawson tried to peek at Joey's drawing. This was back when Dawson and Joey where still dating. Later through the season, in "Sex, She Wrote" I think, Joey tries to hide the picture to Jack, who she is dating and obviously cares about, but Dawson is allowed to see it. With this I want to state that you can find things about their relationship in every episode, if you just dig deep enough. I don't know if the writers meant to imply this, but you have to agree it's an intresting analogy.

The only mistake I think they have done with the show is Andie and Jack. Though I love those characters, and I had no problem with them being in the second season. But honestly, I think it could have been done without, at least Andie. They could have cut about six maybe seven episodes, focused more on their main story and done something minor with Pacey and Andie, which could have ended with Andie leaving for the mental institution. But now they are stuck with two more characters who need storylines. If they are going to keep the focus on Dawson and Joey, there will be problems with storylines pushed and popped all the time, which we have seen plenty of examples of this season. It also means more episodes, which leads to more intresting interim plots. Hope they manage to keep up with that.

Sometimes I think there are to much focus on seasons. They are really just breaks in the production and doesn't neccesarilly follow thestoryline. Things like, there are only seven episodes left of the season, how will they resolve this in that short time, are pretty pointless. This season there have been lots of first season stories popping up again. They have also pushed some things on the stack, mainly the Jack and Joey relationship, which I though was great at the end of season two. Will that be the main attraction the next season? This last episode was the 50:th episode of the series. My guess is we are about halfways through the series. I have heard the actors got five season contracts. So, after five seasons there will be difficult to keep all actors. That means two more seasons with about 20 episodes in each + the seven remaining from this season. What will happen in those seasons? I have no idea, but hopefully we will see more reaccuring characters. I think Tamara should come back again. That could be intresting. I hope they have the overall story ready, or they should start thinking about it at least. They should be perfectly clear with how the show should end by now. What is important in the future is to remember that Dawson's Creek is about the relationship between Dawson and Joey, and focus on that. Don't try to tell a million stories at once, like other shows.

SNLDude71378 says: I thought the tonight's episode of Dawson's Creek was great. When Joey was in Principal Greene's office saying that she failed and Principal Greene saying that "That was a great success of mine" or something like that and then near the end where the students were all clapping for him as he walked out of the school with Joey. It was such a good episode.

Amy agrees: I did too!! I was really moved by this episode. Joey's character was awesome, and I thought the plot was wonderful. It had a realistic ending, and I mean instead of Principal Greene being able to stay & still having that kid expelled, it turned out where he still had to leave...realistic, even though of course he should have been able to stay. I absolutely loved the Pacey/Joey stuff and I think the show made a good decision to go into this relationship...How many of you were screaming when they showed the previews for the next ep? Pacey saying "I don't want to talk anymore" and then kissing Joey!! Argh...can we wait 2 weeks??!?!

Wacky chick still mad about green and the adults: I thought it was great too but one thing really pissed me off and that was Principle Green left. Why does DC always have to make almost every adult on the show look bad and the few good ones dont get screen time or in this case leave. It's so stupid!

SHASHLEY14 responds: I loved that episode! What Joey did was sooo great. I hope Gail's story brings back the principal! I liked Greene he was cool, and I like Nikki's character, so I don't want her to leave the show. Since Gail's story didn't "air" on the epi maybe it will be on the next one, and hopefully they will bring him back! LaterZ

Ingledon wonders: Did anyone else see a "ghost" on Wednesday nights episode? During the testimonials the students were giving for the principal, right after Andie spoke, the girl who spoke next looked like the spitting image of ( forgot her name already ) the girl who drowned in the second season. She appeared again in the lineup when the students were clapping when the Principal was walking down the hallway to leave the school. Any comments?

Jasper says: Joey and dawson make a better couple. Pacey is nice and sweet and all but I just don't see it working. Dawson and Joey are "soul mates" or what ever

David Johnston responds: so what Joey needs Pacey huh? I liked her and Dawson, they will get back together, and as for college guy A.J. he is okay!!! But what Pacey did was so sweet, fighting that guy, helping her with the rally, and buying her that wall. So I have no objections to him getting a shot!!!

An…@anon.com says: If the whole Dawson's Creek story doesn't want to become a soap opera (and I hope it won't ) then the pureness of Dawson and Joey must remain intact and the story itself has to end with them together and both still virgin. Even against the madness and weakness of the majority of people who self destruct themselves by having sex without love and with the wrong person and ending up having lost their pureness and got nothing good in return for their souls and their existence other than a bit of sex pleasure that will vanish in the void of time without any moral and with the struggle of feelings inside their lost souls. I hope the script won't kill Dawson and Joey souls and will use them instead that with a real strong feeling a perfect couple like them could stay together without being affected by the mistakes of others. That's what I hope for this serie. I really hope they won't destroy it for marketing reasons and that it will end in the right way. ( Has anyone noted the similarities with the Japanese Animation Kimagure Orange Road story written by Matsumoto ? That's a good point, KOR is a very good love triangle like story with good morals and strenght and pureness in its characters that like in Dawson's Creek suffer due to the stupidity of others around them but the two main characters , Kyosuke and Madoka will finally succeed in becoming a couple... Let's hope that Dawson's Creek will follow the same destiny). I just did mean that the story shouldn't kill them and their souls by making them just like other two who lost their dream of staying together and loosing their virginity with each other. If the story make them do the wrong thing of loosing their virginity with any other characters then the whole story would suffer and just become another soap opera and not the special story it has been up to now.

Tajmahal is mad: I was waiting for 2 weeks to see the reaction of that kiss between Pacey and Joey... And they decided to leave that kiss for the end on tonights episode... Now I have to wait some more.... What you peaple think is going to be their reaction????

Xanathos14 responds: You have to admit, they're good at stringing us along... :) She looked as if she was falling into the kiss. But I think she won't like it...I don't know...it just seems that way. :-(

Tajmahal replies: Yeah... I admit they did good by stringing us along and the episode was amazing.... But damm I was waiting for that reaction.... I think she will stop the kiss as soon as she realize that that the friendship is involved....

Frank 1252 jumps in: I think that the writers will let this story line continue -- what better to

get Dawson riled up but, of all people, Pacy dating Joey !

People asking who played morgan and the responses say “The Internet Movie Database says… “ Not IMDB. Just kinda funny, that’s all!

Error403 says: The Joey/Arthur/Morgan situation - beautiful The realization that she really is interested, though would not admit it to Pacey.  That little kid was so hilarious! The Pacey/Joey situation just rocked. Haven't finished it yet, but if the restaurant needs a chef, uhhhh,

duhhh, isn't Bodie a chef, and unemployed. Hmmmm. . . Anyway I liked the ep!

Amy3253 disagrees: Sorry but I'm going to have to agree with you on a couple of points… : The Joey/Arthur/Morgan situation - beautiful I didn't think so. I've never really liked AJ from the beginning and I thought the whole situation was way too cheesy. Frankly I'm glad AJ is out of the picture.

That little kid was so hilarious! He was pretty adorable. I also thought that whole part of the episode was cheesy, but not as bad as the Joey/AJ/Morgan thing. The little kid was just a little too cute to be real. (BTW, is he the kid from Jerry Maguire?) The Pacey/Joey situation just rocked. I'm not sure how into this whole situation I am yet. Since Dawson is one of my least favorite characters, it will be great to see him flying off the handle if this Joey/Pacey thing really happens. Actually, I guess even if J & P didn't become an item, Dawson would still lose his cool because of Pacey kissing Joey.

Jay and Jenn Winnberry talk about Bodie: As far as Bodie goes, he disappeared in the 1st season before the baby was born. I think it was passed off as him getting a job on a cruise ship. Nothing much

has ever really been said about Bodie.

Matt B responds: Bodie is the man. All of Capeside sends a Bodie signal in the sky and

he comes running. They should do a spin-off, "Bodie: The brother next door." I could see it now. Have Chris Rock in it and Chris Tucker, it would be an awesome movie/sitcom.

Kel…@netscape.net isn’t on board: I've been watching the show for a while now... Somewhere

toward the end of the first season. Started watching on a whim and out of curiousity. And something about the show struck a cord in me. Joey's pains of unrequited love. Dawson total cluelessness about girls. Not to mention the whole good guys finish last syndrome that seems to affect Dawson. But anyway I finished watching tonights and I was left feeling more then a bit let down, annoyed and even a bit angry. This whole Joey / Pacey thing is just not a good idea and I don't see it ending anything but badly. Unless the writers just pull some incredibly lame plot twist and make all the obvious problems with this combo just magically disappear. And before I get flamed by all the Pacey fans and all the Joey/Pacey.... I like Pacey. He's the best character on the show at the moment. Defintely more interesting then Dawson is currently.

But let's break down the situation shall we. First after being continuosly bludgeoned by whole Dawson and Joey are Soulmates thing are we supposed to just forget and are the writer just

totally dropping that whole plot device. I did REALLY enjoy the Jail scene of Pacey ripping them for their whole on again/ off again we're soulmates thing. So what else could the whole Joey/ Pacey thing be but just a little manufactured drama and tension to throw in between friends. Thanks you NO... Thats why I didn't watch Melrose and 90210.

Secondly the whole A. J. and his best friend thing...... Geeeee was I the only one to notice the parallel with Dawson & Joey.... You would think the writer could look up subtle in the dictionary. SO poor little miss Potter gets quite the reality check goes home crying and then gets quite the kiss planted on her by a love struck Pacey (and believe me I do FEEL for the guy). Does anyone but the most deluded really think she going to handle that one well considering the situation. And Oh boy imagine the fall out.... Don't care how over her Dawson is supposed to be you KNOW the writer's are going to work this one for all it's worth. Especially with the foreshadowing they've let drop. In the PSAT episode when Dawson told Pacey something to the effect that they shouldn't fight except over a girl and How badly Dawson reacted when he thought Pacey & Joey were having sex or working on it (in his room no less) and his obvious relief when it turned out to be Jen....

Basically what I'm getting at is I'm getting tired of this crap. Can't we just have some nice romance for a change. I get enough of tortured love in my real life. Just put Dawson and Joey together already and QUIT draggin it out in a vain attempt to generate rating. and maybe if they did all the people that gave them the rating in the beginning will return. And it won't be a daytime soap at 8pm anymore

love…@flash.net (Lisa) is sad: well............. i just finished watching the episode and thanks so much for ruining the joyful moment i was having thinking that this could work the Joey/Pacey thing...............

I mean sure Dawsons reaction will probably be not to happy, but I was kind of liking the Pacey Joey thing......I do however like much better the idea of Pacey and Andie as a item and then of course Joey and Dawson........ but whatever the writers do im sure Ill enjoy it either way.... it was a great episode.....loved it....... on another note where was Henry tonight...........

AngelnBvff agrees: oh man i couldnt of said it better myself!!!! i totally 150% back you up on

the whole"dawson joey" its what is meant to be and me being a Strong believer in Fate and the stars and destiny things happen for a reason you know thats my philosophy. i want dawson and joey back together they are SO happy when they are together the show will go down the drain in ratings perhaps if they dont end up together i havent been watching this show for years to have it end in a

DRAMA i like pacey but i LOVE dawson im a hopeless romantic myself. and ive experienced love first hand and heartbreak w/ best friends. and believe me its all good if it works out in the end. dont tempt the fates there is such a thing as fate but it only takes you so far then its up to you to see it thru.

Raven is ok about it: Actually, I felt like they used the same gimmick for the season 1 finale when Joey and Dawson first kissed. And we had to wait for an entire summer to see the reaction. Maybe it's just me, but I still think Joey and Dawson from season 1 generated better chemistry then Joey and Pacey from this season. Don't get mad at me, but no matter what they've done this season, they still haven't captured the magic from season 1.

Autumn Hull is more positive: I can only speak for myself, but personally I really love the Joey/Pacey Thing. I've been watching the show from the beginning and the person I've always been able to relate to is Joey. From my point of view, I think that we the audience saw Joey as the rational "normal" one, while Dawson was the sweet and clueless dreamer, Jen was the lost girl who made bad choices, and Pacey was the smart-ass with a "loser" complex. At any rate, I always identified the most with Joey. I felt for her during her drawn-out torturous love for Dawson, and I felt the excitement with her when he finally loved her back. I also completely understood her need to be without Dawson and see who she could be on her own. Also, I have really enjoyed watching Pacey mature and learn to let his inner strength of character show through. I have always thought that when the chips are down, Pacey stands up like a man and does the right thing. Remember when he took care of a drunk Joey at the beach party and punched that guy out, even though Dawson got the credit for that one? Ever since  that episode, I have been officially in love with Pacey. The guy is absolutely adorable with none of the wimpiness of poor sweet Dawson. So when you put these two factors together, it is easy to see why the Joey/Pacey romance is so appealing, at least for me. Since I identify with Joey, it's like I get to have a pretend love affair with Pacey. I don't mean that in a "get that girl some medication" kind of way, I do have a firm grasp on reality! It's just fun to remember for an hour a week that exciting time in high school when everything is so dramatic and crushes are so intense. Honestly, during the last few minutes of the last episode, when they were standing outside the car, my heart was racing and when they kissed, I actually cried. I've never been one to get so emotionally involved in a tv show, but this one has had me hooked ever since six months before it even aired, when I read a write-up on it in a magazine. Since then I have gotten married and had a son, but every Wednesday night at eight, the world stops and I listen for the best sound in the world… "I don't wanna wait, for our lives to be over..." Sigh... : )

Sweetiepie1410 has a scoop: Pal Joey The latest on ''Dawson's Creek'''s new love affair. Joshua Jackson talks about his blossoming on screen romance with Katie Holmes by Sandra P. Angulo Soon, many teen males (and some older ones too) will be envying Joshua Jackson, whose ''Dawson's Creek'' character Pacey Witter is starting a romantic relationship with Katie Holmes' Joey Potter. When new episodes of the series begin airing April 5, the pair will add fire to the spark of last week's show, in which Pacey finally worked up the nerve to kiss Joey. The duo has been palling around ever since Dawson asked Pacey to look after his ex-girlfriend earlier this season. And now, Jackson confides that he and Holmes are going to heat up Capeside, at least for a while: ''There's going to be a lot more kissing involved,'' Jackson says. ''And there can never possibly be enough kissing Katie Holmes, if you ask me.'' But fans who worry that Joey and Pacey's new feelings will keep the titular hero sulking in his rowboat can relax. Jackson says Dawson will have a typically ''Creek''-ish response (read: extremely confrontational) to the blossoming relationship. ''Dawson's going to be like, 'That's my girl, man, and you're a little bit on the shady side. I don't want my girl to be with you,''' the 21-year-old Jackson reveals. And who can blame poor Dawson: He and Joey are still virgins, while Pacey is so sexually adroit he seduced his English teacher at 15. But what will eventually become of the love triangle? Jackson doesn't know for sure, because even the writers haven't decided who's the better match for doe-eyed Joey. ''They're either going to use me to bounce her back to Dawson, or they're going to let us stay together,'' Jackson says. ''Personally, I don't want to be the bounce-back guy.''
