Sex and Violence:
Written by: Anna Fricke & Tom Kapinos
Directed by: Frank Perl
Original airdate: April 2, 2003
Synopsis:
Pacey and Joey return to her dorm after a date and after some back and forth flirting, he bids her goodbye with a kiss on the cheek and hand, and walks away.
Elsewhere, CJ wakes up in Jen’s bed and tries to initiate some sexy times, but she backs off, asking for cuddling time instead, saying she isn’t in the mood for more, leaving CJ pouty. He gets even more pouty when at the helpline office, Jen uses their personal experiences to help out callers. He asks her about it, referring to their bedroom problem, which she questions, not realizing they had a problem. He then mentions how before they met she let creeps and scumbags into bed with her but now that she has a guy who treats her well, she doesn’t. This roundabout way of calling her a slut of course hurts Jen and she storms off.
Joey visits Pacey at work, drawing the attention of all the men, and Pacey learns that Rich has fired his secretary for her attitude and the cut of her jib, which Joey takes offense to. Rich then tells Joey that she should take up the position since she needs a job for the 2 weeks of spring break and she accepts.
Out in LA, Dawson pitches his new script idea to Heather who gives him advice on how to sell it to Larry the producer: add in more sex, boobs, and nude scenes.
At the office the next day, Pacey arrives to once again see Joey surrounded by his coworkers. As Pacey begins his day he asks Joey to make his usual coffee but she comments that since he was a chef he should have no problem making it himself. Rich enters to tell Pacey that a reporter is coming to do an interview with him and Joey eavesdrops, showing some interest in what’s going on.
Dawson and Heather go to pitch the movie and Larry calls him his hero, not for finishing the movie and getting a great performance from Natasha, but for the fact that he actually slept with her. As Dawson recovers and begins describing the movie, Larry begins pushing for obvious overt sexual moments to be put in, especially after Heather describes the coming of age movie as a teen sex comedy with heart. This leads to Dawson describing one of the characters as a stripper in order to hook the horny producer, ending up with him getting a deal.
Back at the office as Pacey talks with a client, Joey enters with the folder he was looking for but inadvertently hangs up on the caller in doing so, not quite understanding how the phone works there. The reporter, Sadia Shaw, enters and the two recognize each other from the party months ago when he got his promotion to Stepatech. Joey’s jealousy hits the ceiling as Pacey and the reporter chat and he asks her to get them some coffee.
Dawson heads off to find Todd who gives him the advice that he needs to keep working until he gets to a point where he can write his own ticket, OR don’t use their money, use his own, and make the movie his way, giving him $10 to get him started.
As Pacey’s interview gets started, Joey continually pages him through the intercom to inform him of things he doesn’t really need to know at that exact moment, and then purposely drops cream on the reporter when fixing her coffee for her. Later after the interview is finished, Pacey confronts Joey about her behavior who tries to shrug it off, pointing out out the obvious problems in the workplace here of sexism and sexual harassment. They argue but he shuts her down by telling her to take a letter down to apologize to Sadia. They start to argue again but then end up kissing each other passionately on the couch.
At Grams’ house, Grams senses the tension and gets Jen and CJ to admit what is going on and helps them reveal their feelings, bringing the two young lovers back together and ready to set sail for sex.
Dawson heads back to a meeting with Heather and Larry and as they start to discuss the movie and how many boob shots Larry wants, Dawson tells them that he can’t do it and walks off, leaving Larry unfazed and asking Heather for other directors who will shoot the movie instead. Dawson, satisfied with his decision, leaves happily.
Pacey shows up at Hell's Kitchen to fire Joey, which she expected anyway, telling her he can’t work with her around because she’s too distracting. Pacey invites her to his place across the street after her shift and she agrees as he leaves. Joey, cleaning up, turns around and sees Eddie suddenly standing there.

Love Bites:

Original airdate: April 9, 2003
Synopsis:
Eddie tells Joey that everything is going well in California and since the school liked his writing, he can start in the fall but he decided to first come back to tell her that he needs her in his life because of all she is. Joey however backs away, rejecting him because she has moved on, causing Eddie to leave heartbroken.
Later, with Joey chaperoning Harley’s school prom, Harley picks out a dress for her to wear that won’t appeal too much to Patrick. Joey calls Pacey and invites him to go with her to which he readily agrees before Dawson shows up at his office and asks him to invest his money for him so he can finance his new film idea. Pacey is very reluctant to mix business and friends, but Dawson pushes him, telling him how he has been writing up a storm and is anxious to keep going.
Over at Grams’ place, Jen finally recognizes the mistake she made in cutting her hair but is interrupted by CJ who tells her his Uncle Bill has been devastated since Grams broke up with him. Jen tells him she’ll see if she can find out why but Grams is instead evasive. Jen takes a phone call from a new doctor that Grams saw and asks her about it. She reveals that she is going to be starting treatment for breast cancer. Grams is adamant that she will handle things on her own but Jen insists on helping her and the two hug.
Back at Gail’s house, Dawson begins putting up his old movie posters, ready to get to work on his film script but Gail questions his decision to move back home, asking if he has a back up plan in case his film career fails.
Before heading out to the prom, Joey reflects on the pictures around her mirror, passing by photos of her and Dawson and her and Pacey, before settling on a picture of her and Eddie. Pacey shows up, corsage choices in hand, and together the two head off to the dance. Patrick is typical Patrick, making disrespectful comments about another girl and not dancing with Harley, leaving Pacey to try and lift up Harley’s spirits by dancing with her while Joey sends Patrick for drinks. He returns and tries to hit on Joey but she isn’t having it.
Dawson, having trouble now trying to write his script, talks with Gail about how he doesn’t have a back up plan because as childish as it might be, making movies is his only dream. Gail talks about some of Mitch's harebrained schemes he had tried over the years, explaining that it was his pipe dreaming that made her fall in love with him. In the end she encourages her son to do what he desires.
Back at the dance, Joey and Pacey recall their disastrous prom night and he is thankful for the opportunity for a second chance now, kissing her shoulder, to which Joey seems non-receptive. Nearby, Harley is dancing with another boy, with Patrick watching nearby, getting jealous. Eventually a fight breaks out between Patrick and the other boy, which Pacey ends up stopping, taking Patrick into the bathroom to cool off while Joey takes Harley to the girls’ restroom to fix her makeup and hair.
Patrick is resistant to Pacey’s suggestions on what he should have been doing the whole night, but once Pacey points out that his date is Joey, Patrick calls him sensei and begins to listen. Joey and Harley discuss Harley’s problems with Patrick before they reunite on the dance floor, and Patrick admits to really liking her.
Elsewhere at the dance, Joey approaches Pacey and after some small talk, he goes to kiss her but Joey balks, explaining that she can’t go on like this, that things just don’t feel right to her. Pacey tries to change her mind, admitting he’s scared of their future because he doesn’t know where it is going, but that his whole life she has been the most beautiful thing in it but Joey reveals that Eddie came back. Pacey leaves, crestfallen, but returns within minutes to offer the dance he owed her since their own prom. After the song ends, Pacey walks away.
With prom over, Joey drives to Eddie’s house, and when he answers the door, the two embrace and kiss.

Kreisleriana1838 responds: I think he's pretty good, considering his limited screen time--he's really only got a few minutes of dialog in each episode he's in. Jensen Ackles is a talented actor--he was certainly one of the best in "Dark Angel," where he played a character that had a lot of layers, and his comic timing is good, too. My problem is with his character, C.J. (By the way, after this week's episode, did anyone else think it strange that Jen is sleeping with him and still doesn't even know what his initials stand for or what his name is?) Las fall C.J. was advertised as having a deep, dark secret, but the only thing wrong with him so far is that he's a recovering alcoholic, which doesn't seem to be a big deal to anyone these days. If the spoilers about the final episode are accurate, I wonder if he's the one who's responsible for making Jen a single parent--C.J. does seem to have sex on his mind a lot!
Beth is upset: Ok, I was glad to read your opinion until I got to the end about spoilers and accidentally read part of it!!! You can't do that without warning people! There's a reason for putting "spoilers" in a subject you know! As someone who avoids spoilers at all costs, thanks a lot.
Mosaic understands: I understand you point. My apologies. Sometimes people forget or are just
plain clueless.

Oshkoshbajosh123 says: I know it won’t happen but I think Jack and Pacey's brother should fall in love in the last episode
Had…@webtv.net says: The last ep takes place 5 years from now. The setting is at some wedding where Joey finally decides whom to hook up with. I think the wedding will be Jack and some guy. The b/f he has now? But his ex is making a reappearance. Can't be Douggie tho'. He's engaged to Sabrina! ;-))))
Poet828 says: I don't think Doug is really gay though. Pacey just thinks he is. Does
anyone else think Doug is really gay?

Leslie asks: Does anyone still LOVE to watch this show? Except for those who love to watch this show simply because their favorite actor/actress is in the show, is there still someone here who loves to watch Dawson's Creek? I am out of US and this show was and probably will never be aird in my country. I began to find whatever episodes I can have my hand on from the
internet in March and the reason is that in late February I happened to watch Katie Holmes' Abandon and James van der Beek's 'infamous' Rules of Attraction at the same night one after another. Maybe God can explain how I happened to choose these two films which have one thing in common, the main characters are in the same tv show Dawson's Creek. Katie is surely hot and James' acting is not bad.
One thing confusing about this show is the constant partner changing thing, just like James van der Beek said in his bbc interview, they have tried all the possibilities, except same sex couple. I started to watch ep 501 expecting some future romance between Dawson and Joey and within a few episodes I saw Dawson and Jen flirting with each other and sleeping in the same bed, then a few eps later, Dawson is sleeping with an old woman who up to now, I still don't and don't care to know. In season 6 premiere, Dawson and Joey finally did it and just after that they broke up again. Then Dawson began to sleep with that young actress. God, this is not like the Sean
Bateman in Rules who can even sleep with men just to sell his dope! I have not seen much of season 1-4 yet but I figured out what was going on, season 1, Dawson and Jen season 2 Dawson and Joey with Jen trying to win Dawson back, I am not sure what happened in season 3, but I think Dawson and Joey had some problem in this season and Joey chose Pacey in the end. Season 4 Joey and Pacey split and in the season finale, Dawson and Joey were kind of back together.
I noticed that there is a split of fans here, some support Joey/Dawson and some support Joey/Pacey. From what I have seen and guessed, I think probably the producer will eventually break the hearts of J/P fans. Dawson/Jen thing is over in season 5 and some spoiler confirmed that Jen may die in the series finale. Joey just said goodbye to Pacey in the latest episode so I
don't think they will just be back together in only a few episodes. So the only choice left is Dawson/Joey.
Also, I read from the news that Kevin Williamson is going to write the last two episodes and some intro to this show that Dawson's Creek is a kind of semi-autobiography of him. If this is
so, wouldn't he let himself(Dawson) end up with the girl in the end? I think when he created this show, he had never really thought of the possible Joey/Pacey romance at all, because don't forget that he created Andie for Pacey in the second season and in his interview, he regretted that his successors wrote off this girl! If for him, writing the last two episodes is to right wrong, do you think he would choose Pacey for Joey?
Lastly, never forget that this show is called Dawson's Creek and James van der Beek appeared the first in the openning credit. Isn't it the rule that the no. 1 male character gets the girl in the end?
Jolene answers: I have to admit that I do but I have only been watching for a few years so I
am not as annoyed with some stuff as others may be. I am actually going to buy the DVDs as I never saw the earlier eps.
d...@theta.net says: If you drop me an email I'd be more than glad to give you some detailed
information about the previous seasons, what happened, and how I saw the episodes.
mbg says: I really liked the show during seasons 1-3. The wheels started to come off in season 4 (perhaps because they had to create pretext for continuing the show after it left Capeside). Seasons 5-6 have been pretty wasteful, in my opinion.
The only highlights in seasons 5/6 I can think of are the episodes where it returns to Capeside (Mitch's death, for example), but even that was ruined when they brought self-destructive Audrey to Capeside for the holidays. Roger Howarth had a positive influence on season 6, although I get the strange feeling he was only there to force Haley on us, which was not a welcome addition. They didn't do enough with RH.
Jen and Jack have been obsolete for awhile. I don't like what they did with Pacey (stockbroker, etc). A lot of my dissatisfaction with might have to do with the fact that it stopped being Dawson's Creek. It started being Joey's Creek, and I like the Dawson character. Returns to
Capeside usually bring Dawson back.
I bought season 1 on DVD. If they continue to release the seasons, I will probably only buy up to season 4. I will, however, continue to watch the show until the end because I think it *has* to return to its roots if this show is going to have a dignified conclusion, and I think it will (especially with KW writing the concluding episode).
Melissa Ann says: I still love watching it....Ive been watching it since the first show and now until the last. I think they did a good job with the show. Of course theres been some things I didnt like or agree with but its just a tv show.
Coy A Hill says: I still love watching it; I'm not going to be able to watch it this coming Wednesday, though; I have to have my priorities and I must listen to game 4 of the Canucks/Blues.
David says: Yeah, I stopped watching this season, and I just started again, knowing it was going to end. Like Beverly Hills 90201, I think it's grinding to a slow halt.
