Bobbi Sue Luther and Robert Green Hall had split before this film started production.
Thomas Dekker and Brian Austin Green were in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Owen Yeoman was in the pilot. Michael Biehn was originally cast as King but backed out at the last minute to do another project. Robert Hall also worked Second Unit on Terminator as well as working on Make Up Effects
The character ‘Trost’ is named after Brandon Trost who recently shot coyote vs acme. He also shot crank 2, the sonic films, the naked gun remake, ghost rider 2, a bunch of Seth Rogan films and most importantly had worked as a special effects assistant.
Several Almost Human effects workers appear in the film including shop manager Erik Porn.
Robert Hall considered giving up the directors chair but he was struggling to finance his other directorial efforts so he decided to revisit this character.
He wanted to address the lack of cell phones and cops from the first film
The film was shot in LA for a Halloween 2011 release but it was released in September.
DOP Amanda Treyz had to wear a poncho in some scenes so she didn’t get covered in blood.
Tommy’s apartment was Heather Wixon’s apartment. They crammed 30 people in there for a day of shooting.
Robert Green Hall was planning Laid to Rest: Exhumed at the time of his death. Nick Principe was working on a Sequel/prequel comic “The reflection of fear” as of 2023 but I can't see anything else on that.
Godzilla does actually have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, at 6925 Hollywood Boulevard, in front of Grauman's Chinese Theatre. It was awarded on November 29th, 2004 to honor his 50th anniversary at the premiere of the film Godzilla: Final Wars.
